Vivica Anjanetta Fox (born July 30, 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana) is an African-American film and television actress. Graduating from Golden West College with an Associate Art degree in Social Sciences, Fox moved to California to become an actress, first on soap operas such as Generations, Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless. One of her earliest roles saw her as Patti LaBelle's fashion designer daughter, Charisse Chamberlain, on the NBC TV series Out All Night. She also appeared as Jazz's sister on the hit show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She got her big break in film as Will Smith's exotic dancer girlfriend in Independence Day. From there, she was cast in many other films and earned critical acclaim for her role in the 1997 movie Soul Food, which netted her MTV Movie Award and NAACP Image Award nominations. |
