Traci Bingham (born 13 January 1968) is an American actress and model. She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA to a Native American father and a mother of Italian and African descent, and went to Harvard to study psychology. She is best known for playing the role of Jordan Tate on the television series Baywatch between 1996 and 1998. Other appearances include television series Dream Team and the film Demon Knight. She also appeared as herself in the second season of the reality series The Surreal Life and has posed for Playboy Magazine on a number of occasions. In 2005, Bingham was hired as a spokesmodel by Empire Poker, an online gambling site. For publicity purposes, she was sent to various media events (usually uninvited) wearing a t-shirt with the company's logo on it. She is currently on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK. Traci Bingham was the youngest of seven children, born on January 13, 1968 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A smart and active child, she pursued athletics in order to try and keep up with her older brothers. She ended up excelling in sports, running track and cross country as well as competing on her school swim team. Traci Bingham's athletic endeavors helped mold what was to become one of the most mesmerizing natural figures in entertainment. After high school, Traci Bingham followed in the footsteps of her Ivy League siblings and attended Harvard University. While going to classes there, Traci kept busy by appearing in lots of local stage productions, including 'Grease,' 'West Side Story' and 'Annie.' One night she was spotted on stage by director John Landis, who instantly cast her in a small part in his basketball comedy 'Celtic Pride.' Traci Bingham's success in that film caused her to put her academic career on hold. She left Harvard and moved to Los Angeles, her sights set on the big time. In no time at all, her fantastic good looks and real acting skills started getting her parts. She spent the middle part of the 90s playing small roles in lots of TV shows, including 'Fresh Prince of Bel Air,' 'Married With Children' and 'The Cosby Show.' Traci also landed roles in some big-screen productions like 'The Nutty Professor' and 'The Firm' and in a few national ad campaigns. Traci appeared in the June '98 issue of Playboy Magazine. Besides appearing in the magazine, Traci hosted a Playboy video featuring her and other unclad Baywatchers like Pamela Anderson. Unfortunately, just as Traci's issue was hitting the stands her Baywatch career ended as the producers let her go from the show in May of '98. After two years in L.A., Traci Bingham was offered a role on 'Baywatch.' Although the part relied more on Traci's skills at filling out a bikini than acting, it was to be her big break. She spent two seasons on the show, winning over fans worldwide with her dazzling beauty. She left the show in May 1998, but kept her name in the headlines with a June 1998 photo spread for Playboy magazine. In August of that year, Traci Bingham married musician Robb Vallier in a ceremony in his hometown of Ames, Iowa. Bridesmaids included fellow 'Baywatch' babes Carmen Electra and Gena Lee Nolin. Since she left 'Baywatch,' Traci Bingham has drifted a bit out of the spotlight, but she continues to keep her hand in the industry. She starred in the short-lived action series 'The Dream Team' with Roger Moore and has been seen in Comedy Central's 'Strip Mall' series. Traci Bingham has also served as a reporter on that network's 'Battlebots.' Traci is without a doubt one of the most alluring and exotic TV personalities around, an athletic and fun-loving beauty who also happens to have quite a few smarts. |
