Paulina Rubio Dosamantes (born June 17, 1973 in Mexico City) is a Mexican singer. She is the daughter of Susana Dosamantes, a Mexican actress of telenovelas. Rubio's music is popular in Latin America, Spain and in the United States. She began her career when she was nine years old in 1980. debuting with a music group called Timbiriche, recording ten albums with them. Rubio turned to acting in telenovelas on Televisa. She landed her first role in 1988, as a villain in Pasion y poder ("Passion and power"). In 1990 she starred in Baila conmigo and in 1994 she made her film debut in the low-budget Mexican film called Bésame en la Boca and in 1995 she starred in the telenovela Pobre Niña Rica. |
