Broke up with Gerd-Jan van Dalen, one of the producers of "Goede tijden, slechte tijden" (1990). [November 1998] Caused car accident after driving drunk in December 1999. She and her co-star and close friend, Cas Jansen, left the show together: their characters, Julian Verduyn and Jessica Harmsen, left for Israël together. [12 March 1999] Has a younger sister named Birgit Schuurman who is a very popular Dutch singer/actress. Is of Surinamese, Antilian and (on her grandmothers side) Chinees decent. Traveled with the Elizabeth Dancers to Italy in Februari 1992 to compete in a Carnaval-Showfestival and was elected Miss Carnaval. As part of the Elizabeth Dancers, won the dance competition in Henny Huisman's Soundmix Show in October 1992 Together with Birgit Schuurman, sang in the band "Jeune Turcs" in September 1994.
