Felicity Huffman (born December 9, 1962 in Bedford, New York) is an Emmy Award-winning actress. Huffman's work has included roles in the motion picture Magnolia and the television dramedy Sports Night. She is now best known for her work on the television series Desperate Housewives, where she stars as Lynette Scavo. During the first season of Housewives, Lynette was a stay-at-home mom who was a former advertising executive. Her quirky and comedic sense of humor garnered her the Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series and a Golden Globe nomination in the same category. In the second season she and her husband Tom switch roles after she indirectly causes his firing; she returns to work in advertising whereas he stays at home with their four children: twins Preston and Porter, Parker, and Penny.
