Emi Suzuki(鈴木 ãˆã¿ born September 13, 1985) is a China-born Chinese-Japanese actress and a very popular fashion model. Born in Shanghai as Wu Tsûryan (Chinese:å´å良 Chinese spelling:Wu Ziliang) and grew up in the city until she was 12, Emi emigrated to Kyoto with her family and naturalized to Japanese citizenship, obtained her Japanese name as Emi Suzuki (鈴木ä¾ç¾Ž), at the same time. She attended Fujinomori Middle School, a public junior high school founded by Kyoto, shortly after arriving in Japan, and got to be able to speak fluent Japanese within one year. After she graduated from the middle school, Emi entered Kyoto Ryoyo Highschool, but shortly afterwards she left the high school. Emi had an audition for the fashion magazine Seventeen at the suggestion of her friend and successfully passed the audition named Miss Seventeen Audition in the summer of 1999 and began her modeling career at the age of 15. Soon after her appearance on the magazine, she became extremely popular and then became a prominent model. She terminated her contract with Seventeen in 2006 and then settled a new contract with the fashion magazine PINKY as an exclusive model. While working as a model for PINKY under an exclusive contract, she also has worked as a model for many fashion magazines and has also modeled for many kinds of ads such as Shiseido, Suntory, OPC (Calorie Mate). Besides aside from the modelling she appeared in many TV serieses such as The Long Love Letter, The Queen of the Lunch, Water Boys 2,[6] and especially, had made efforts to work with the TV series Yukan Club during 2007. Widely known by her nickname "Emichee" and has often been described as "The charismatic model", Emi is as especially popular with young men and women as her best buddy Nana Eikura, and extremely popular among the galy teenagers in Japan. |
