Candy Dulfer (born 1969-09-19) is a smooth jazz alto saxophone player who was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. A backup member of Prince's band, she recorded the 1991 hit "Lily Was Here," which began a long and successful career. On June 30, 1990, she joined Pink Floyd for their performance at the Knebworth Festival. Dulfer is the daughter of tenor saxophonist Hans Dulfer, and they collaborated on a duets album. She has become an inspiration to other female instrumentalists, including guitarist Joyce Cooling and saxophonists Pamela Williams and Mindi Abair. |
