Timeline is a 2003 film directed by Richard Donner. It stars Paul Walker, Frances O'Connor, Billy Connolly and Gerard Butler. Brian Tyler composed the score for the film.

Despite its huge budget of $80,000,000, Timeline was panned by most critics, and grossed only $19,480,739 during its American box office run.

In the book Chris Hughes is not Edward Johnston's son, but a student. Also, the movie doesn't go into detail concerning the details of the technology used in time travel, simply passing it off as a wormhole to Castlegard in the past (In the book, the time travel involved travel to various other universes, many of them at different points in time to 'this' universe).
