The Heaven Project is an upcoming drama/thriller film about a former criminal who mysteriously ends up working at a psychiatric hospital. The film was written and directed by John Glenn and stars Paul Walker and Linda Cardellini. An ex-con (Walker) is sentenced to death, but he wakes up from his lethal injection in a small Oregon town. He is told that he has received a second chance from God, but he questions the circumstances of his survival. He works as a groundskeeper for a mental hospital and falls in love with the hospital's administrator (Cardellini). The film is written and directed by John Glenn in his directorial debut. Production was originally slated for September 2005, with Mandeville Films attached to produce the film. After a prolonged delay, actor Paul Walker was cast into The Heaven Project. Production began on April 15, 2007, taking place in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Actress Linda Cardellini joined the film the following May. The film has been noted to be similar to the 1890 short story "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" by Ambrose Bierce. |
