Temporada de patos (released as Duck Season in the United States) is a 2004 production of the Cinema of Mexico, it will be released in 2006 in the United States. This film is the full-feature production for its writer and director, Fernando Eimbcke, a former MTV Awards videoclip director. After being successfully featured in national and international film festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival it was sold to distributors in six European countries. This movie has been praised in all of these festivals as well as by directors such as Alfonso Cuarón ("Y tu mamá también") and Guillermo del Toro ("Hellboy"). Most of the movie was filmed in one location, and old apartment in Tlatelolco and in black and white. In spite of being a teenage movie, this coming-of-age movie is devoid of sex scenes. |
