R-Point (알 í¬ì¸íЏ) is a 2004 Korean war/horror film written and directed by Gong Su-chang and starring Gam Woo-seong and Son Byung-ho. It is set in 1972 Vietnam, during the Vietnam War. It was filmed in Cambodia. The film is very heavy on atmosphere and chills, and less on the gore factor. The appearance of a J-Ghost type lady adds to the overall tension, and creates a tie to similar Asian ghost films such as Ju-on and Dark Water. A platoon of Korean soldiers are sent on a search and rescue mission after a left-for-dead unit sends chilling radio calls from a remote location called R-Point. |
