Phone Booth is a 2002 movie about a man who is trapped in a telephone booth by a deranged sniper. It starred Colin Farrell, Kiefer Sutherland, Katie Holmes, Radha Mitchell and Forest Whitaker, and was directed by Joel Schumacher. The film was originally scheduled to be released in the fall of 2002, but was delayed until April 4, 2003 due to the Beltway sniper attacks. Tagline: Your life is on the line. The main characters are: Stuart (Stu) Shepard (Colin Farrell)  a selfish agent. The Caller (Kiefer Sutherland)  a sniper who sets a trap for Stu in the last phone booth in New York City. Captain Ramey (Forest Whitaker)  a cop called in at first to arrest Stu, but then to help him solve the predicament he's in. One day, Stu goes to the phone booth he uses every day to call his mistress (Holmes), when he gets a call from a crazy sniper who seems to know everything about Stu and threatens to kill him unless he does exactly what he tells him to do. At one point in the film, the sniper kills a pimp, but it looks to the bystanders at the scene of the crime that Stu was the murderer. This causes someone to call the police, and a stand-off ensues. |
