Feast is a horror film that is a result of the third season Project Greenlight contest. It was executive produced by Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Wes Craven and Chris Moore. Originally produced under Miramax's Dimension Films banner, it was later taken by Harvey and Bob Weinstein to their newly formed studio, The Weinstein Company, along with the Dimension brand after their so called "divorce" from Miramax Films. The winning team was composed of writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton and director John Gulager. The film premiered at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, the Chicago International Film Festival, the International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival, and the Savannah Film Festival on various dates throughout October 2005. John Gulager was named "Best Director" for Feast at Fantastic Fest 2005. The film was scheduled for a wide theatrical release on January 20, 2006. However, the Weinstein Company later pulled the release date and displayed no interest in releasing it for some time. The film is now scheduled for special late night showings starting on September 22 and 23 2006. The DVD release will follow soon after on October 17, 2006. |
