A Rage in Harlem is a 1991 film starring Forest Whitaker, Danny Glover, Robin Givens and Gregory Hines based on Chester Himes' novel of the same name. The bare bones of the plot is used to create a screenplay with a somewhat different emphasis than the novel. For example, in the film, the character of Goldy is the hero-protagonist, whereas in the novel, Goldy is a dope-addicted female impersonator who ends up with his throat cut and his body concealed in a hearse. |
