Angelina was born in 1975 in Los Angeles, California. When she decided to pursue an acting career, she dropped her famous last name and simply used her middle name, Jolie. She trained at the famed Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, and performed in several theater productions before she began working as a model. Angelina also appeared in a number of music videos before she started her movie career, most notably Meatloaf's Rock 'n' Roll Dreams Come Through.

In 1996 she married her Hackers co-star Jonny Lee Miller, best known for his role as Sickboy in Trainspotting. She reportedly wore a black rubber dress. The late 90s have also seen her achieve increasing big screen success, and she has been hailed by many critics as the up-and-comer to watch out for.
