Album Review
Easy Tiger is Ryan Adams' 9th studio album since leaving the alt-country band Whiskeytown. The album, which was recorded at at Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village, it was released on June 25, 2007 (June 26 in the US), and was Adams' first release since his 2005 album 29, the third of three albums released in that year. The album features The Cardinals as the backing band and backing vocals from Sheryl Crow on "Two."
Many of these songs were performed on Adams' recent tour of the United States and Europe. "Off Broadway" first appeared on the bootleg The Suicide Handbook, a compilation of unreleased demo recordings. "These Girls" previously appeared as "Hey There, Mrs. Lovely" on Adams' unreleased 2000 album Destroyer, although the lyrics have been mostly rewritten for the version included here.
Rolling Stone's early review of the album suggests it contains Adams' best material since his critically acclaimed debut album, Heartbreaker.
