"Back To Basics: Live And Down Under" is a concert tour DVD by American pop singer-songwriter Christina Aguilera. Christina Aguilera's breathlessly energetic, senses-frazzling live spectacular of a concert brought the house down in Sydney/Adelaide, Australia; and the cameras were there to capture it all in both cities for the release of her Back To Basics - Live Down Under concert DVD. The critically acclaimed live extravaganza thrills and awes, while Christina's vocal acrobatics remind you why hers is the Voice of a Generation. With ninety minutes of footage - from burlesque cabaret, to trapeze choreography, fire jugglers and stilt walkers - the Lady knows how to put on what's been called "the greatest show on earth!" The live concert DVD features eighteen songs, spanning Christina's career, including the hits "Ain't No Other Man", "Candyman", "Dirrty", "Come On Over", "What A Girl Wants", "Hurt", "Fighter" and of course the Grammy-winning smash hit "Beautiful". The DVD has been released February 4 in the UK and most of Europe while it hit stores on February 5 in the USA exclusively at Best Buy stores and BestBuy.com. The Australian release date is Saturday February 16th, 2008. The DVD contains 2 discs, the first disc being the concert and the second discs containing special features such as interviews and behind the scenes footage. "Back to Basics - Live and Down Under" debuted at Number 1 on the DVD Charts with 18,473 copies sold, making this the highest DVD debut of her career. This marks Christina's second #1 on the DVD Music Video chart, her first was in 2001's "My Reflection." Aguilera's "Stripped - Live in the UK" debuted at #3 on the DVD chart in 2004. On January 13, a shortened version of the concert aired live on T4 in the UK, while it aired on VH1 in the US on January 26th. It aired on FoxLife in Turkey for Valentine's Day. Oh Mother, the fifth single of Back To Basics, is used to promote the DVD. The German music channel VIVA had released a live video of Oh Mother, live from the Back To Basics Tour. Additionally RCA Records sent the live video of Dirrty to Yahoo Videos, where it got premiered on February 4th, and Ain't No Other Man was sent to the channel VH1. |
