B in the Mix: The Remixes is the first remix album from Britney Spears. It was released in the U.S. and in Canada on November 22, 2005. The album contains remixes of Spears' biggest hits, from "...Baby One More Time" to "Toxic", and also a remix (two for the Japanese edition) of her newest single, "Someday (I Will Understand)", originally a piano ballad that was an ode to the then-unborn Sean. It also contains a new song, "And Then We Kiss". "And Then We Kiss" was released in Asia only, where it charted in several countries. The song surprisingly appeared on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay chart at #15, despite the fact that the song was not even officially released in the U.S., only for digital download. The title was originally announced as Remixed and a cover was leaked onto the Internet, but it was not the final cover nor the final title used for the album. Spears was not able to promote the album because she was still recovering from her pregnancy with her son Sean. Because of this, the album failed to crack the top one hundred of the U.S. Billboard 200. B in the Mix debuted at number 134 on the chart, selling 14,077 copies in its first week of release. The promo single "And Then We Kiss" received heavy airplay in Europe. The album also charted within the top 40 in Mexico and top 100 in the United Kingdom and Italy. The album has sold less than 1 million copies worldwide. |
